These terms are an agreement between you and Quantum Arbor LLC ("we", "us"), the company that makes From Mile One. By making an account or buying a book, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. From Mile One is not meant for children, and we don't knowingly let anyone under 18 make an account. If you invite someone, you're telling us they're 18 or older too.
Your account
Keep your password and PIN to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your login. Tell us right away if you think someone else got in.
What you buy
Books
A book is a one time purchase. It gives the people in it access to that book for as long as we run From Mile One. There is no subscription and no automatic renewal.
Clean exports
Clean exports is a one time upgrade for a single book. It removes the "made with From Mile One" mark from posts and pictures you save from that book. The small "made with" line and code on the last page of the book stay, the same way a publisher's mark does.
Gifts
When you buy a book as a gift, we send it to the email you give us on the day you choose. The person who receives it owns that book. You won't see inside it.
Printed copies
You can order printed copies of your book from inside the app. Each copy is made to order from your book as it is when you order, so look over the preview first. The price for each format shows before you pay and depends on the number of pages. Shipping is added at checkout. We ship to addresses in the United States, and copies usually arrive in 7 to 14 business days.
When you order, you're telling us you have the right to print everything in the book, including photos other people took. We may decline to print a book that breaks these terms, and we'll refund you if we do.
Payments and taxes
Quantum Arbor LLC is the seller. Payments are processed by Stripe, and Stripe's terms apply to the payment itself. Prices are in US dollars and include any tax we're required to collect. We never see your full card number.
Refunds
If From Mile One isn't for you, write to us within 14 days of buying and we'll refund you in full. After 14 days, purchases are not refundable except where the law says otherwise.
Printed copies are made just for you, so we can't take them back once they print. If a copy arrives damaged or misprinted, email us a photo within 30 days of delivery and we'll reprint it or refund it, your choice.
Your content is yours
Everything you put in a book, like pages, photos, videos, notes, places and dates, belongs to you. You give us permission to store it, back it up, copy it between our servers, resize photos, and show it to the people you've let into the book, only so we can run the service for you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups, which roll off within 35 days.
We don't read your books, sell them, or use them to train AI models. People who help us run the service can only reach your content to fix a problem you ask us about, or when the law requires it.
What you agree not to do
- Upload anything illegal, or anything that sexualizes a minor in any way.
- Upload someone else's private photos or information without their permission, or use a book to track, harass or threaten anyone.
- Upload things you don't have the right to share, like someone else's copyrighted work.
- Try to break into accounts, overload the service, copy it, or get around the limits on it.
- Resell books or use the service to run a business without our written OK.
We may remove content or close accounts that break these rules. If we close yours for a reason other than a serious violation, we'll give you a chance to download your books first.
Storage and fair use
Each book includes generous room for photos and short videos. Videos are limited to about two minutes each. If a book grows far past normal use, we'll reach out before anything changes.
Baby tracking is not medical advice
The pregnancy and baby section shares general information that many families find helpful. It is not medical advice, it can't know your situation, and it isn't a substitute for your doctor, midwife or other provider. If something feels wrong, call your provider or 911 right away.
If we change or stop the service
We'll keep improving From Mile One, which means things will change. If we ever decide to shut it down, we'll give you at least 90 days notice by email and keep the download and book PDF working during that time so you can take everything with you.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something in From Mile One infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the subject "Copyright notice" and include what the work is, where it appears, your contact information, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you're the owner or allowed to act for them.
The legal fine print
We work hard to keep From Mile One running and your books safe, but the service is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to email us and give us 30 days to try to fix it.
Changes to these terms
If we make a meaningful change, we'll email you and show a notice in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect.
